Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is transmitted directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Putnam County Court Docket does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained as needed to prepare and send a response. It is not disclosed outside the organization unless a binding legal duty requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may automatically receive technical information about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure site use, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine this traffic information for reporting. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Putnam County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of local dockets or personal case data. Its published material identifies the Circuit Court Clerk, Clerk and Master, courts, and Tennessee public-search channels. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and it does not turn visitor information into reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies provide the search boxes. Information submitted to a tool is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention terms, and disclosure practices rather than this policy. Review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may open clerk pages, trial-court portals, Tennessee search systems, legal-aid resources, or independent tools. Once a visitor leaves this service, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use activity across multiple sites to select ads. Such tracking occurs through the provider's systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures are used to protect collected information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so unauthorized access can never be ruled out entirely.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. Notice that a minor supplied information will be handled with a deletion request.
Your Data Rights
Rights may also arise under applicable Tennessee privacy and consumer-protection law. The Tennessee Public Records Act, T.C.A. § 10-7-503, concerns access to records held by government custodians and does not turn this private site into a court-record custodian. At a minimum, visitors may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices change. A revised version will appear here with an updated effective date, and visitors should review it periodically.
